Oh! The Places you Must Go!!
I am a blessed person and have visited and lived in many different places all over the world. I have been to 12 countries and landed in a few more. I have also been to 30 of the 50 States.
Dr. Seuss book “Oh, the places you’ll Go!” has a special place in my heart. It was given to me by my customers. When I was attending collage I worked as a server at the same restaurant for all four years. It was a wonderful job to have as they were great about working with my crazy schedule and it was a perfect change for the weekend. One elderly couple came in every weekend with their elderly son. All of them were so sweet and we visited the entire time they were eating. I would make them special cookies for Christmas which also was around the time of their birthdays and they would always bless me with a generous tip. One time when they came in, they had asked me how my week had gone. I was reluctant to tell them but this particular week was a challenging one. My basement had flooded. Now for me being a girl from the south where we have no basements I didn’t really understand they could flood. (I know it is shameful.) It was an ordeal to clean up and my roommates helped me, but it took a long time to remove everything from the basement and use the Shopvac to vacuum it up. Then I went and rented a carpet cleaner to help get the smell out. I was sharing this story with them only because they had asked. After they had paid their bill and they were leaving the father came and handed my some money to help with the cost of the flooding. It wasn’t a lot but his kindness meant so much to me.
Anyways, when I graduated from college this family bought me a card and their son who happened to be mentally challenged and never really said anything to me bought me this particular book. His father kept saying I don’t know why but he said you must have this book. I had never read this particular book before but I fell in love with it instantly. Even now while writing this blog it sits proudly on my bookshelf.
The Statement above “You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose.” This is true! Go out there and make your plans. You have a brain and most likely have more resources than you know you do. Go out there and have an adventure.
My desire for this topic of my blog is to tell you about these places and hopefully entice you to spend your time and energy on gaining new experiences. Not many things bring me the same amount of joy as the fun filled memories I have had in this beautiful world God has created for us.
A few of these places will be expensive to go to and others will be less expensive. I am the kind of person who believes you get what you pay for. So, when you are unsatisfied with your happy meal because you were expecting the flavoring of a steak. I am not interested in hearing your complaints. I will give a real account of local places to visit near me as well as far off ones.
Let us dive into the places you must experience. Or maybe tell you about a place you may say “Na, that’s not for me.”
Either way you are on your way!!!
Ask me any questions you have! Where you should go? What I think about other places? Should you go with friends or family? All and any questions.
Tell me about places you have been that you think we all must see in our lifetime in the comments below! 🙂
